*Alarm goes off*
Shit, what the heck? What time is it? 3 am? I don’t remember setting an alarm for 3! I can’t deal with this right now, not with everything else happening! I need sleep, but something is really telling me not to go to sleep again!! OH… Right, the alarm is still on, that’s probably why, obviously. There, time to sleep again!
*Alarm goes off*
Geezus, seriously? It’s been 30 minutes; can’t a man get some sleep around here? Damn, now I’m hungry!! Fine, fine, my alarm seems to really want me to wake up huh? Might as well get some grub into me before I die of starvation! Oh darn, I forgot to buy eggs yesterday! I guess cereal it is. Man, cereal is just so depressing to eat in all honesty. But I guess it is what it is haha. Wow, coming to think of it, I know why I had an alarm set for 3 am!! It’s because I have to go to work! Maybe I should just quit and sleep in and relax?... No, that’s definitely not a good idea! I need the money; I mean who doesn’t nowadays! What with all this crazy shit happening, it’s a blessing in itself that I even have a job. After they came, people were losing their jobs left right and center! Businesses were going bankrupt, people losing their houses, families breaking apart. All because of those pricks coming into town like they own everything! Of course, some businesses are still open, but not much. Most of the people are poor a shit and can barely afford to feed their families, let alone themselves.
The people who are doing well, are considered essential employees and get paid more. Same for the important businesses. It’s sad really, but that’s not the worst part. People who try and resist and protest are killed on the spot, in front of everyone as a demonstration of some sort. “Resist and die” kinda thing! Most of the people lost hope after a mere 2 weeks after they came. But there are still some resistances out there. I think I heard rumours of a resistance group building up in the next city over! Not really sure what happened to them. But there is still hope, I know the entire world hasn’t fallen as of yet. There’s no way! If these things think they can control us like we’re their puppets, then they’re in for a hell of a ride! Rumour has it that the governments are secretly hiding somewhere, building some sort of robotic weapon or something. Or was it a chemical weapon? The rumour changes every time I hear it, but not by much.
I heard it from my buddy who used to be in one of the resistance groups, well, back when that resistance group was still present that is. Not sure of his whereabouts now. Anyway, I can’t keep sitting here complaining. I gotta get to work! It’s important stuff I do you know? I work in security. Not for the people though, security for those scum bags. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I want to protect them. But it is an easy way for me to get information from the inside! Call me a spy in old-world terms ahaha. I’ll protect these fools until the time comes when the human race is ready to fight back! These guys came here with intense firepower and advanced technology, they had things nobody even imagined was possible. They had grenade things that basically created a “miniature” black whole that can wipe out an entire town. We had tiny missiles that didn’t even penetrate their soldier's armoured skin! What the hell is up with that? Nobody even knows where these things came from. They just appeared one-day wrecking havoc and slaughtering everyone they saw. The army didn’t stand a chance, but they did manage to kill a few of those… Things. I feel that they have scientists working on the materials of their weaponry and armours. It’s probably what they’re going to create the mechanical weapon out of! You know, using the alien’s own weapons against them! Who knows if it’ll be enough though! Have you seen the fortress the aliens live in?
It’s crazy! They live in this giant circular fortress that’s all black! There are some exit ports high up onto the roof of the structure, but only the drones, or whatever those flying things are, come out of there! I doubt anyone would try and go in there, they’d end up disintegrated or something like that! Anyhow, other than those ports, the only other entrance that can be seen is the front door… which is more like a portal thingy? It’s difficult to explain, on the outside, you see a door, but the door doesn’t open. You just walk into the door and appear inside the structure! If that’s not a portal, then I don’t know what is!! Adding to the craziness, they have massive artillery ray guns or something surrounding the entire building. Any unauthorized movement and BOOM, instant death! At first, those guns were literally destroying everything that moved! I remember a leaf was floating around, and the guns shot it! Like… That’s overkill if you ask me. They did recalibrate them though and now they only shoot at intruders and all that mumbo jumbo. The only way not to get shot is to have an access card or a guest card that the security at the front would provide. But I’ve never seen a single soul with a guest pass around these parts nowadays, mainly because there is no point in trying to ask for something from these things. The last time someone asked for water to be available for the public, they just hung the dude and laser whipped him… In the end, they did make the water available though, maybe they take a life for a service? Not too sure.
Anyways, that’s the outside of the building. I’m usually the security on the inside. It’s very nice on the inside, they have a lot of different coloured marble pillars supporting the ceiling, and the floors are laced with some sort of glowing silvery red thing. They also have couches with a fabric that’s so soft it makes you want to just sit on it forever! The main floor has many different aspects to it, there’s the cafeteria section with elegant tables and chairs. From the cafeteria, you can access multiple different hallways leading to another section. One leads to the pool room or something, while another leads to the soldier’s quarters and armoury. I still don’t have access to that section, despite working here for 3 years now! I thought they’d trust me faster for some reason. I just hope to get there soon so I can see what I can work with. Maybe I can smuggle some weapons out and send them to the resistance groups! But for now, I’m working in the residential section. If something goes wrong, they bring their petty problems to me!
Just the other day, one of these things came up to me complaining how their toaster isn’t working… Like, bitch, do I look like a technician to you? I don’t even know how your floor has glowy things in it, how does it expect me to fix its crazy laser-tech toaster? This other time, one of them was saying how its neighbour was walking too loudly… What do I do with that? Kill it? With the wooden stick I have? Funny! I’ll definitely try that next time. Gosh, I feel like I’m so useless here, why have a human security guard here anyways? There’s no point to it! Anyways, I get paid for it so whatever. The pay is really good too, I have enough money to support at least 3 families! I do donate half my earning to other families to help them! In secret of course, according to the new laws, it’s illegal to donate money to anyone or anything! It’s ridiculous.
Speaking of my job though, they told me that the director wants to speak with me!! Now, this can go a total of 2 ways, I get promoted which would be amazing, or I die which would be terrible! I have families depending on me you know! I can’t just drop dead all of a sudden. The meeting is taking place at 5:00 am, and it’s 4:30 right now. At least I have some time to kill before going to this meeting! To start I guess I should go to my post in case there are some complaints to deal with. You know, sometimes I feel that they only have me here to study me… That’s a disturbing thought! Do they watch me pee? Pee time is me time you know? I guess it’s better having pee time being us time rather than me being dissected… Anyways, one of them is coming towards me! Let’s see what they want eh?
Ok, I’m not sure if these beings are insanely smart or just plain retarded! The thing came up to me and asked me why I am human… Like, is there an explanation for that? How do you answer that question? “Because the universe made me one?”… It seemed content with that answer actually, nice job me!! Nice job! Oh, shit time actually flew, it’s already 4:50. I guess I should make my way up using their weird level teleporter thing! Zingnyoom, that’s the noise it makes when I go through it aha it makes me laugh every time! Alright, I’m on the director’s floor! Am I ready for this? No! Will I be ok? No! Will I do this anyway? Yes! Let’s goo!
Well, I’m alive! So, that’s good. The meeting actually went really well. She basically talked about how good of a job I was doing and that I may be promoted in the near future provided that I continue to show loyalty and good work efforts… I honestly thought I was doing a trash job but eyyyyy that’s what’s up! Just a little more before I can fully begin my ultimate plan of weapon smuggling and total annihilation! Of course, when I was up there, I wasn’t just listening, I made sure to take note of the layout of the room, where the security cameras were, and any useful information on her desk. I did notice a small slip of paper with an interesting insignia on it! It was like two lines swirling upwards into one another, both the lines came out of a single dot near the bottom of the page. Out of the same dot, there were two other lines extending out to the sides of the page. Not really sure what that is, but it seemed quite important! I have to find out what it is, it could contain vital information about the alien’s future plans, or maybe it could be information on the resistance groups, if so, I seriously need that paper! But how am I supposed to get it? In the room, there’s a total of 7 security cameras, and these aren’t your average corner store cameras, these are high tech. There was a weird red light pulsing within each of the cameras, kinda like what’s in the floors now that I think of it!
Anyways, five of the seven cameras were located in the corners of the room, and the two others were on the pillars that stood in the center of the room, most likely to get every angle possible. If I am to get that note, I have to somehow bypass those cameras! Not to mention the fact that I have to get past the security. But I feel like that will be easier to do, I can cause some sort of distraction to draw them out! As for the boss person, whatever her name is, I’m not too sure yet… Maybe if I cause a big enough distraction, she will come out to see what’s happening? It won’t leave me with a lot of time though, so I’d have to slip in and out like the assassin I always knew I was. Or wait, now that I think of it a little longer, why do I have to get it today? Maybe it will still be on the desk in a couple of days from now! I can try and observe the security rotation patterns and see when the big boss leaves her room, she has to leave at some point, there was no bathroom, or kitchen in there, so she has to leave for either of those things.
Yes, I think that’s what I’ll do, I can also figure out a plan for the cameras. Maybe an EMP pulse will work? It could be worth a try, right? I can make a quick EMP bomb and use it on one of the basement cameras, I know for a fact that the security doesn’t look at those cameras since I take naps there all the time and I haven’t been reprimanded or anything so far. Plus, I know they work because I was on camera security at one point. Everything is coming together, slowly, but surely. I just have to get the materials for some EMP bombs, I might make 4 just in case I need to use some for other purposes, it’s always good to be prepared right? I’ll start on this right away, I’ll have to get a coil resonator, some copper wiring, a voltage source of some sort, and a button activator to cause the reaction to happen and I know just the place to get all of that! It turns out that Richard, the father of one of the families I supply money to, was an EOD specialist. He’s encountered countless different types of bombs and had to disarm them all. Maybe with his help, I can build the small EMP device, after all, he knows the insides and outs of how they work, surely, he can easily make a few. I just hope that he will be willing to help. I mean, if any of this gets out to the aliens, which I guess I’ll refer to them as the dark armoured alien people, DAAP for short, then the both of us will be executed on the spot! Which doesn’t sound too good to me. But I have a gut feeling that he will help! I guess we’ll see by tomorrow, it’s only 6:00 am right now and my shift ends at 10:00 am, so, until then, I have to do my job and stand here doing nothing! Fantastic right?
Ok, after standing still and enduring stupid complaints, I am finally free! It’s 9:55 am and it takes about 20minutes to get back home, but I’m going to go straight to the EOD dudes house and ask for his help, the sooner I get these emp bombs done, the faster I can execute my plans! It will take about 30minutes to get to his house, which isn’t too bad at all. I should also call him first to make sure my visit isn’t so random, and yes, I have a secure line that I talk to my “clients” on! You can’t just go around without a secure way of communicating, especially when you’re doing illegal things like I am, hehe, I feel like a rebel right now. Maybe after all this is done, I’ll just join one of the rebel groups! I’m sure I can find one if I look! After all, I’m sure there are coded messages hidden in plain sight, they’re always looking for more people to join their cause.
Anyways, joining a rebel group will have to wait a bit, for now, I need to focus on my current plan, after calling Richard I was able to convince him to help me make some EMP bombs, he obviously didn’t seem to keen on the idea, but he didn’t reject it outright when I proposed it to him. In fact, despite being skeptical and all, he seemed very interested and he even gave me some quick pointers, he said he’d give some more when I get there. But in the meantime, he’d get started on making them so that we save some time. By the time I actually got to his house he managed to make two of them before running out of the required materials. He said he’d need to go get some more stuff from a place he knows, but he didn’t tell me where. I guess that’s for the bests, you know, limit the flow of information and all or something like that! While he was gone, I wasn’t really doing anything. I mean, he quickly showed me how to coil the wires and all, so I did that. But it’s not like that takes forever to do and it was super simple! After I finished coiling them, I basically just played with their pet peacock! Although the peacock didn’t seem to want to play which is a bummer. I don’t have any animals at home, I wish I did though, it would make the place less boring, I guess! Maybe I should get one… Or not aha, especially if I’m doing something this crazy, it’s probably a good thing that I don’t have anything important at home. That way, if I have to leave abruptly, I won’t have to worry about any animals being left behind and it would make my escape much simpler.
I’ll get one once all this is over with, so there’s something to add to my bucket list! But time is going by pretty fast, it’s already 2:30 pm. Have I been “playing” with this peacock for that long? Where is Richard? It’s been quite some time! Hopefully, he didn’t get caught, or worse, rat me out? This is getting a little more stressful the more I think of it. Maybe I should take the two he already made and leave? Not that it would solve the problem of the DAAPs knowing my plans, but at least it will stop them from catching me! Maybe they’ll send out some security to capture me, and in doing so, reduce the security on the inside? Nahhhh, they aren’t stupid. If anything, they’d just wait for me to come and fortify their base, that’s a much more logical thing to do! Unless they’re so cocky that they think that they can easily catch me? Me! A self-proclaimed rebel assassin? Ha, I think not! I think I should follow my gut feeling and get out of here. There seems to be no benefit to staying! I know Richard has a secret exit in the basement, so I’ll use that to escape!
Boy, am I glad I left when I could? Had I stayed any longer, I would be a dead man! As I was leaving three space hovercar things appeared at the house, and Richard walked out of one with four DAAPs. Of course, he betrayed me! It was too good to be true! Let’s just hope that the two EMP grenade things I have will be enough. I clearly don’t have time to waste now! I have to figure out how to get back to the building and cause an even bigger distraction! Fuck, I can’t believe my plans are all ruined within the day I made them! This is so stupid! I’m not nearly as prepared as I could be, and all for a weird note that might not even be anything important? Maybe she was just doodling out of boredom! Whatever, I have to do it now that I have been made out, there’s no going back now. The best distraction would be a fire, everyone in there would have to evacuate according to their security protocols, and that way I wouldn’t have to worry about the cameras anymore. The only problem is, how the heck am I supposed to get into the building and cause that fire? Those ray gun things are probably already calibrated to shoot me on sight, or rather, my security card probably doesn’t work. I don’t know!! Maybe I’ll just drive through the booth? The security guard at the booth is human too, maybe he’ll hook me up with something? Wait a minute! Maybe, they don’t know just yet. Maybe it’s only those four DAAPs that know and so far, they haven’t reported anything. It’s a far stretched idea, but I’ll run with it. I didn’t leave any traces of my presence when I left Richard’s house.
Going off of this idea, my security card might actually still work! I’ll have to try it! If it does work, then that’s perfect. I can also maybe use one of the EMP grenades to open the door to the armoury, assuming these grenades are real and that they are effective against the DAAP’s technology! This is stressful, but I’m at the gate now, and so far, nothing serious is happening, in fact, the security guard greeted me like nothing was wrong. To add to that, it seems that my security card is still working. Clearly, they haven’t received word of my plans as of yet and now that I’m inside, all I have to do is get to the armoury. If I can get inside, I can get a small DAAP pistol or something to help protect myself if things go really bad! Plus, they for sure have explosives there! In other words, the armoury is my fire creating arsenal! But of course, I obviously forgot about the guards standing outside… What am I supposed to do now? I’m not even allowed in this section and they know it! Plus, all I have on me are the grenades, my security card, and my stupid wooden stick. Maybe I can find something elsewhere in the building to use against them? The basement! I can see what’s in the basement since nobody really looks there, I might be able to look for something useful!
The only problem is that the basement is huge, it’s like there is no end to it and I really don’t have time on my side! I guess the best solution is to start looking for something near my sleeping spot! There’s a door there that I’ve always wanted to open, so I’ll start with that! Who knows what’s behind those doors? Well, I guess I do now, and I actually can’t believe what I’m seeing right now. There’s nothing in there except this large thing that’s covered with a tarp! By the looks of it, it seems like it’s a vehicle of some sort, but how did it get in here through that small door? I guess I should actually take the tarp off to see what it really is… Wow, now that’s impressive if I say so myself, and I was right. It is a vehicle, just, not a human vehicle. It resembles a tank though; it has two large barrels on the top of the base, with four side weapons that are thinner and smaller than the main barrels, also there are no wheels. On the back, there are thruster like things, probably used for acceleration. Oh, and the door or whatever is on top of the barrels. Literally, just like a tank, but it’s probably a hover tank with advanced DAAP technology. I wonder, if I can use this, they won’t really know it was me, and they won’t be able to really stop me until it’s too late. I can use this to get to the armoury and destroy it, and then drive it to the teleporter. Of course, I’d block the entrance to the teleporter with the tank, and maybe use one of the EMP grenades to render it useless for the time being. I could use it to escape, but I feel that it would be too big and slow. It’s probably better to escape on foot or something, maybe I can use it to cause more destruction though, that might make it easier for me.
Ok, with that said, let’s get into this beautiful hover tank! Uhhh, I think I have to like, touch it somewhere? No, that isn’t working, I touched all over the place. I guess it won’t open no matter how much I touch it. This is a problem! Maybe my security card? If I tap my security card somewhere, maybe it will open the hatch? Well, that didn’t work either. Wait, maybe there is a key somewhere in the room? I might have accidentally thrown it onto the floor with the tarp. Shit, no key. Come on, look dam you! Wait, what if the key is under the tank? You know, as though the tank is a doormat? BOOM SHAKA LAKA DING DONG! It’s right there! Ha, the DAAPs clearly thought they were smart huh? Well, not smart enough! Let’s get in here and see what we’re working with. Huh? This is very, very simple looking. It actually resembles the controls for a car, the key is different since it’s a tap type thing. I guess? I mean, that’s how I opened the hatch, I just tapped the key on it, and it popped open. So, maybe if I tap the dashboard with the key, it’ll turn on? Ohhhhh, it did. That’s sophisticated!
Now for the controls, there is no gearbox or anything, but there is this glass-like thing on the right, maybe it’s a touch screen control type thing? Well, after touching it, it is only giving me one option, so I guess it’s to fully activate the tank. This is getting more complicated as I go aha. But after clicking it, the tank lifted off of the ground and to make it simpler, two pedals have now emerged from the bottom of the driver side. Probably the “gas” or whatever fuel this thing runs on, and the brake pedals. As for the touch screen, now it shows two options, one for the main weaponry unit and one for the automated secondary weapons activation. I guess I’ll just activate the second one since it’s automatic and I don’t have to worry about how to use it. As for the steering, well, it’s literally a steering wheel so that’s the most normal thing here so far! But, enough sitting around, let’s get this up to the main floor. How exactly am I going to do that? Well, luckily for me, the only way to get down here is by using this massive ramp. It’s probably how they got it in the basement in the first place… Unless they built it in the room, in that case, it makes sense as to how it was in the room! Anyways, first, let’s just drive through the door and break it, no point in being silent now, I guess.
As soon as I drive through the door, the system alarms went off! It’s crazy, it’s like the doors have a sensor or something like that! Or maybe one of the guards actually paid attention to the camera feeds for a change? Either way, it makes no difference, the only thing it does is make an annoying “poopedy, poopedy” noise. I really don’t know why they chose this noise for their alarm, out of everything, they chose poopedy, poopedy… Like… Really? It is creative, I suppose. Moving on, as I entered the main basement hallway, I noticed that there were no soldiers there which is quite odd. If they found out that I was stealing their hidden mega death hover laser tech beamy tank thing, then you’d assume they would have a barricade set up to stop me and retrieve their prized secret weapon that isn’t a secret anymore! It’s what I would do, but enough of that. I’m going to use this to my advantage and continue towards the armoury. I wonder what their reactions will be once I emerge from the ramp! “They see me hovering, they hating”. I feel like that’s how they’ll react; I mean, I’d hate it if the enemy got hold of my secret tank!
Enough of that though, it’s time to focus, I’m nearly at the top of the ramp now. It took some time mainly since it’s still a little difficult to maneuver this massive honking beauty! But there’s something wrong, there’s nobody really stopping me still. Do they seriously not know that I stole their tank? The alarm is still going off… Maybe something else happened? Wait a minute, is that rubble? I’m actually blind! I might have to buy some glasses after this is all over! But, shit, there’s rubble everywhere, some of the pillars are destroyed and the floor is all messed up. The entire area seems like it was raided by someone, or maybe more than just one person. How did I not hear this earlier? Did it just happen to occur while I was destroying the wall? Oh boy, would ya look at that! The couch is ok! That’s good, I should steal that for later. Anyways, since the place is in turmoil anyways, I might as well head straight to the teleportation elevator and skip the armoury! Still, though, I wonder who did all of this, are they still here? I do hear noises coming from the armoury. I guess I have two options, go to the armoury and help the raiders, or get the note while the raiders distract the DAAPs… I think it’s better if I get the note, then head to help afterwards.
I guess I’ll move towards the eleporter, Oh. MY. GOSH. It’s an eleporter! Not a teleporter for elephants, but an elevator teleporter, eleporter! How did I not think of this before? Moving along, literally, I have finally reached the eleporter, now it’s time to toss that EMP grenade to disable it. Hopefully, it works, I’ll have to time it so that the grenade doesn’t interfere with the eleporter, but I think I’ll be fine if I enter the eleporter as the grenade is tossed into the tank! So, that’s what I’ll do, fingers crossed eh?
*Zingnyoom*
Heh, would ya look at that! It worked flawlessly. Or maybe the EMP just has no effect on DAAP tech. Which would really suck because I need the tank to help the raiders afterwards, I can’t have a DAAP steal it from me! As a bonus, there are no guards around the eleporter, but I suspect there will be some at the big boss’ chambers! I need to find a way to either defeat them, immobilize them, or distract them. Or I guess the distracting one isn’t really an option since they’re literally being raided at the moment, what’s a bigger distraction than that? If the DAAP guards are still at the door, then they’re probably ordered to stay there and defend the director! Wait a minute, I might not even need to do anything, I’m still in my security guard uniform, I could maybe say that the director wanted to see me!! It’s worth a try. The boss’ chambers are just around the corner, I should just walk casually, you know, how I normally walk. Like just normal running. Oops, I meant walking hehe. Shoot, it’s too late. I was thinking of running because I was so nervous and so my body was running. Shit, I don’t know what to do now. They’re asking me what I’m doing here, and THEY HAVE WEAPONS, like assault weapons, not the dingy stick the security usually has. This sucks, but I begin to say that I’m on patrol! Why did I say that? I thought the plan was to say the boss asked for me. I guess things never really go as planned, that’s clear since literally, nothing went according to my plan! BUT THEY BOUGHT THE EXCUSE!! They’re so stupid, all the guards know that I’m only allowed access to the first 2 levels, so me being there, is absolutely not a thing.
Anyway, it’s good that they’re stupid. I proceeded to tell them that the director wanted to see me about something. This time they weren’t so accepting but they let me pass anyway.
As I enter the room, I see the director sitting at her desk. She seems very stressed, which makes sense since her building is being attacked. But she looks up, confused, asking why I am here. I didn’t really think ahead at all, obviously. I’ve been pulling stuff out of my ass the entire time. I guess I’ll have to go further up my ass and around the corner to find more things to say, but I’m running out of ideas. For now, I basically said that I was here on patrol and that I wanted to make sure everything was ok, especially because there was a raid or something happening on the lower levels. As soon as I mentioned the raid, her eyes shot up towards me and she began to ask so many questions like, who is attacking us? how did they get in? what is the current situation? where are they headed? and what is their goal? This took me by surprise, mainly because I figured she was the one who knew the situation better than anyone else! But answering these questions may be to my benefit. I proceeded to tell her that the main floor is completely destroyed, and the “enemy” was last seen at the armoury, although I have no idea if they actually were there. I just heard it after all. I also told her that I don’t know what their objective is or how they managed to pass the yar guns, but it may be to steal weaponry from the armoury. I also mentioned that security is currently fighting the enemy at the armoury.
After telling her all of that, she seemed to be much calmer! Did nobody inform her of the current situation? Does that mean the guards outside have no idea what’s happening? No, they have to know. They have assault rifles, they never have assault rifles… Says the dude who literally only came up to this level once, that time being earlier today. Whatever, the point is, if she’s the head honcho, why doesn’t she know what’s going on in her own building? Especially during the attack! Who’s leading the security team that’s fighting back? Is there another person in charge above her? This is very weird, and it makes no sense. I’ll have to figure out those questions later, for now, my objective is the letter drawing thing, which is luckily still on the table, and even better, she just went to grab a drink of some sort. Alcohol is a good way to destress, so I’ve heard! Anyhow, this is my only chance to get the note, so I snatched it like the master thief I am, without her even noticing a thing! Right after I snatched it, I shoved it in my left pocket and I notified her that I will be going to retrieve more information and inform her of my findings. With that said, I left the room without any further conversation. I needed to get out of that room as fast as possible!
Once leaving the room, I headed straight towards my tank, which I think I’ll name it “destroyer” because that sounds cool. It’s also time to see if the EMP actually worked or not. As soon as I exited the eleporter, I saw my baby waiting for me, just where I left her! I hoped in, and turned her on, pushing just the right buttons like a pro and moving her just the way I want. It’s finally time, to head towards the armoury. The alarm is still blaring, and the couch is still intact! Plus, the sounds of gunfire keep getting louder the closer I get to the armoury. This is good because it means that the raiders are still alive somehow, maybe they’re actually a rebel group? That would be amazing. Oh, maybe I should actually read the note, assuming it actually is one! I reach for the note from my pocket and opened it.
This… This can’t be true! If what’s written in here is true. Then, humanity never even stood a chance in the first place. Literally, all hope is lost! Or wait, there’s still time. According to the letter, the main legions of the DAAP will be arriving within 6 months, with them, they’re bringing their terraforming devices! What this means, is that first, we’re having so much trouble with just the scout legion, and second, that terraforming device will most likely destroy the earth with everything on it! Humans and mosquitos aside, the poor animals! I have to get this note to the government. If we can plan something within 5 months, we may have a chance. Especially if we overtake the various scout stations around the globe! We can use their technology to upgrade our own! I’m sure the scientist already working on some of the DAAP tech have found something! With that said, I began to hurry towards the fight, of course, the secondary weapons systems are already online, and this time, I will use the main cannons! I have no choice.
Luckily, the door to the armoury is busted open, and I can see the DAAPs fighting back as they take cover, there’s a lot of dead human and DAAP bodies littered all over the floor. Blood spattered all over the place. But hey, that’s war for ya, and with that, I shot the main canons! The sensation of watching the DAAPs fly all over the place dead like they should be was, thrilling! I couldn’t stop shooting! As I got closer the secondary weapons began firing, beams were being shot in every direction, it was chaos. Everything was destroyed within minutes of my arrival! Looking to my right, I saw the humans just standing there baffled as to what just occurred. I don’t think anyone had any idea of what just happened. DAAP soldiers were disintegrated within seconds. After things settled down, the rebels began cheering in victory, I guess they didn’t consider me a threat considering I just obliterated the DAAPs. This is good, I can probably join up with them!
But then, things started to get loud again. The floor was trembling, and the atmosphere began to get very tense. With that, the wall behind me blew up and the rebels started to run for their lives, dropping their weapons as they ran, they were being slaughtered. Those that fired back were annihilated, leaving nothing behind. It wasn’t me killing them, but rather the thing behind me! I activated the rear optical sensor to see what it was, and it was a full squadron of armoured hover tanks, exactly like my destroyer! After slaughtering the rebels. Their cannons trailed onto me. I knew at that moment, that I have to get out as fast as I can!
I activated the rear thrusters to 100% and attempted to boost my way out, at the same time I shot the main cannons at the nearest enemy tank disabling it in one shot! I can get out of this, I know it. I have a gut feeling! I began to prepare the next shot and in the meantime, the secondary weapons were firing away. I too was taking way too much damage. The enemy tanks were bombarding me with fire. My destroyer’s energy shield is almost destroyed, only 10% remaining, but I’m almost out of the armoury into the open front area! Just a little more and I can get out. With that, I shot a second time, but I missed it. Fuck! I missed it now of all times! 5% shield remaining. I can feel the tank reducing in speed as well. Not to mention, the enemies aren’t even moving forward. They’re just, staying still! Are they not able to move for some reason?
Whatever, I’m finally out of the armoury, I swear these enemy tank dudes have the same aim as the droids in Star Wars! But as soon as I got out, I realized… No, they weren’t trying to destroy, they were playing with me. Giving me the sensation that I can escape, the hope that I can escape alive. As I got out, all of that hope disappeared. Only despair and death awaited me. What waited for me outside, was a battalion of gunships. Hovering in the sky, weapons primed and aimed directly for me. I didn’t even have time to react, the rays were already penetrating the hull of the destroyer. HA. So much for stealing the couch eh? I just hope that these DAAP get what they deserve when the government finally retaliates with their new death machine. But this is the end for me. I think I did a good job, considering it was really just me and a spontaneous plan aha. Don’t you think? My only regret is that I didn’t get the couch! That sucks hahaha.
